Wiederbelebung des Grand Am auf der downsized A-Body-Plattform (LeMans-Basis). Buick 231ci V6 oder Pontiac 301ci V8. Endura-Nase und sportliches Interieur. Kurze Produktionszeit von nur 3 Jahren. Geringe Verkaufszahlen. 1980 nur noch als Coupé. Dritte Grand-Am-Generation folgt erst 1985 auf komplett anderer Plattform.
