First mid-engined Lotus road car and one of the first affordable mid-engined production cars. Initially Renault 16 1470cc engine later Lotus Twin Cam. Distinctive low wedge profile with backbone chassis. Early cars had bonded-in windows and fixed seats. Twin Cam Special with 126bhp the ultimate version. Around 9230 produced.
