Iconic Elwood Engel design that saved Lincoln from cancellation. Single model replacing all previous Lincoln and Continental lines. Clean-lined design with suicide doors – the last factory four-door convertible in America (through 1967). 430ci/462ci/460ci V8. Extended 9-year model cycle. The JFK assassination limousine was a 1961 Continental. First car to win the Industrial Design Institute award.
